“People are beautiful, fascinating, creative, and the most interesting subject to photograph!”
My father, who was a photographer, taught me, “The two best friends of a successful photographer are his subject and his dodge and burn skills.”
My father was a great influence on my life, not only in photography but in the philosophy of living. He greatly appreciated food and humor, both being cherished and enjoyed on a daily basis. His photographs inspired me to believe that people are our most valued earthly experience. I intent to someday publish his works.
My first camera was an old RolleiFlex that shot on 120 film. I learned a great deal about exposure and depth of field from that camera. A few of the photos in my portfolio were shot with that camera back in 1974 when I was 16.
